| Turkey has carried on with its rural culture until recent history and even in the present day, this culture continues. While in the western cultures the notion of “peasant” no longer exists, this concept still persists in Turkey. However, due to the social and economical circumstances, by and by these values are getting lost. This situation of our country proved us that this is our last chance to valuate our ethnographic cultural heritage. |

| For the past ten years, TURMEPA has worked to make the public aware of the importance of a clean marine environment. In addition we have involved the public, our volunteers and our Sea Sweepers in cleaning activities with the aim to ensure that future generations continue to enjoy the health, leisure and economic benefits of the sea. |
